The Comment That Got Me Banned From the "Causal Fallacy" Substack
complete and unabridged, from the screenshots
From an exchange that I had with Charles Lehman in his Causal Fallacy Substack, challenging claims that he had made as a reply in an exchange with drug law reform advocate Jacob Sullum (hence the title of Lehman’s original post "Contra Sullum, Contra Me", to which I added the remarks that prompted him to ban me, in one of the replies:
That’s a rough draft, from screen grab captures. I apologize for any difficulties encountered by the reader in adjusting columns and rows in the statistics, or for any redundancy found in the text. I’ll be doing my best to post a cleaner version in HTML plain text. [11/12/2024: apologies to the readers for not reformatting yet. Clerical cleanup is not my long suit. My long suit presently seems to be writing extensive rough drafts that initially appear as Notes, and as replies to Notes and Posts by other authors. ]
I’ve noticed that banned comment of mine that was appended to the “Contra Sullum Contra Me” article by Charles Fain Lehman on the Causal Fallacy Substack is now visible, for those who click on the link found in that post that makes note of my banning.
However, only the text above the fold was preserved, and that’s only about 1/3 of the content. So the comment is shown above, unabridged and complete, taken from screen shots, as best I can do for now.
Because I’ve used screen shots for most of these posts, the links are not clickable. I’ve added them here: 2019 NSDUH Report .
https://www.samhsa.gov/data/report/2019-nsduh-annual-national-report
That page link to accessing the actual report should allow your choice of .pdf or HTML text format.
In .pdf form, the page number for the table below- a screen shot, that’s hopefully visible to readers- is page 40.
In HTML, I recommend using the live links found in the table of contents. To find the source for the table I’m attempting to post, use the listed entry for “Marijuana Use Disorder”.
As long as I’m trying out this screenshot deal, I might as well try this screen shot from the original source:
